Animal Control : Deltona Animal Control is responsible for picking up stray dogs and cats, investigating animal bites, abandonment, animal cruelty cases and other complaints.
Code Compliance : Code Compliance is responsible for assisting our citizens in understanding and complying with Building Codes, Zoning Ordnances, Parking Ordnances, and other City Ordinances related to the development process in Deltona.
Garbage/Solid Waste Services: Garbage/Solid Waste Services is responsible for ensuring that all solid waste generated and accumulated within the City shall be collected, removed and disposed of properly. This division is funded by the Solid Waste Management Fund.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES:
The Enforcement Services Department is responsible for enforcing all regulatory chapters of the City Code enacted by the City Commission to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Deltona. The Department is comprised of three sections:
Administration Section:
Administrative Staff is responsible for assisting citizens in understanding and complying with all ordinances related to the development process in Deltona. Also, staff provides clerical support in the operational structure of Enforcement Services and Solid Waste Compliance.
Enforcement Services Section:
Enforcement Services Officers perform inspections and enforcement of applicable codes along with protecting citizens by controlling the City’s animal population. Staff investigates complaints, enforces codes, documents violations, and captures stray or unwanted animals, and educates the public in responsible pet and home ownership.
Solid Waste Compliance Section:
The Solid Waste Division is funded from the Solid Waste Fund. These positions ensure that all solid waste generated and accumulated within the City is collected, removed and disposed of properly. Additionally, these positions investigate complaints, enforce codes, and document violations along with monitoring the Solid Waste Collection Contract.

Increase the Department's efficiency and the City's appearance by reviewing and making recommendations for changes to the current Code of Ordinances.

FY 2007/2008 DEPARTMENTAL PERSPECTIVE, TRENDS & HIGHLIGHTS:
The Enforcement Services Department has and will continue to provide the highest quality service possible. We have recommended new ordinances and /or changes to current ordinance to enhance the quality of life for our citizens. The Commission has acted on these recommendations we are seeing positive results. We have added four additional officers who have taken a proactive approach and targeted problem areas. We will continue to strive for excellence.
